"IF IT'S NOT CRAZY, IT'S NOT GOD." - RIVENSON DIGE

THE APOSTLE PAUL SAID IT THIS WAY..."IF IT SEEMS WE ARE CRAZY, IT IS TO BRING GLORY TO GOD."
(2 CORINTHIANS 5:13 NLT)

This was the phrase that started it all and summarized what was stirring in our our hearts. What sounded like a crazy idea turned out to be God’s plan all along as He has opened door after door after door in front of us to go to Haiti and record worship songs in Creole, and then legally duplicate and distribute these songs for free. Out of this Matchlight Records was formed.

Matchlight Records is a ministry that focuses on translating and recording worship music in native languages. Then we give it away in those countries in mass quantities as a way to spread the Gospel. We partner award-winning industry production experts with local worship leaders and musicians in countries across the globe to create, record, and distribute worship music where currently none exists. Along with this we facilitate concert events, production training, media resources, and recording equipment technology. We seek to find creative ways to reach the nations through music in a way that fits their culture and eliminates any barriers to finding life and freedom in Jesus.

So why are we doing this? To do our part to help the nations know Jesus. This is not about some fancy record label or being cool. In fact, it's very much the opposite. This may be the only record label whose goal is to lose money because we’re going to give all of the music away in third world countries for free. And this is why your support is critical. Everyone that has experienced the Holy Spirit move in their hearts through a song understands how God uses music to meet us right where we are with exactly what we need. We are trusting and expectant He will move through these same songs to spark revival in the hearts of millions across the globe as they are invited to meet Jesus and worship Him in their own native tongue. Our prayer is that they are "Found in Translation."

Babel is the root of why Bible translation is needed. God didn’t confuse languages so that people wouldn’t find Him, or so that they couldn’t understand His Word. He did it to save them from rebellion. Occasionally I’m asked why we don’t just teach everyone in the world English, instead of translating scripture into thousands of different languages. The reality is that people all around the world are calling out to God in their own language. They long for an answer in the language of their prayers. They need God to speak in the language of their sin. Language is very personal. It is our first social network. We think, plan, dream, remember, nuance, and connect to our family and friends with it. These things become awkward when you try to do them in another language.
